Blog Carolling: Nollaig Shona Dhuit, Merry Christmas to All!

The decorations are finally up, and we are doing our best to bring joy into our home, so once again it's time to celebrate the season by Blog Carolling. As I reviewed this video of images I created last year, I thought of footnoteMaven, who originated the tradition of blog carolling, and I offer my heartfelt thanks to her for creating this wonderful tradition.

So here once again I offer 'Nollaig Shona Dhuit', Merry Christmas to All!, a musical journey through photographs of my wonderful Irish family across time. It is accompanied by 'The Wexford Carol', a very beautiful and traditional Irish Christmas carol. Alison Krauss sings it, accompanied by Yo-Yo Ma and Natalie McMaster. The carol is said to have originated in 12th century County Wexford, Ireland. I hope you enjoy it.

On my cemetery blog, 'Over thy dead body', I hope you'll stop by and have a look at and a listen to 'Angels heard on High', a video which includes images of Angel stones I have shot over the years at Glasnevin and Mount Jerome cemeteries in Dublin, set to a traditional carol, 'Angels We Have Heard On High', sung by the Christendom College Choir.

Happy Blog Christmas Carolling!

May you and yours enjoy all the blessings of the season!
